What are youth companies?

Our youth companies encourage young adults to explore ideas and issues central to their world and generation. The companies' mission is to:

• create and perform contemporary art by, and for, young adults
• develop creative, well-rounded and confident young people

Pointy Dog Dance Co provides training, performance and choreographic opportunites for young dancers committed to contemporary dance. The young dancers work with professional dancers/choreographers and contribute to the creative process of dance making. The experience provides aspring dancers with a connection point to the world of professional contemporary dance.

Out Loud Theatre Co are talented youth passionate about theatre. Many of them have gone onto tertiary training and successful careers in acting. Out Loud is committed to creating and producing new and original work that stimulates and excites young people about theatre, and delivers important social messages.

Flashmob Musical Theatre Co is for youth passionate about musical theatre. Through performing they commit to up-skilling in singing, acting, dancing and exploring their individual character. The Company environment nurtures the young artists through devising, improvisation and ensemble collaboration.

HighJinx Circus Arts Co creates performance which integrate circus arts and dance. We aim to inspire and empower our members to challenge the perception of themselves as performers. Participation in this intelligent, physical arts activity builds confidence, focus and breathtaking physical skills.

Entry to the companies each year is by audition. Auditions for the 2012 Youth Companies will be held in early February, see the individual pages for more specific information and then get in touch with us (845 0290) to put your name down. Some of the youth companies are also happy to take members mid-year.
