Joel Gallarde – Director, Triple8Funk and Boogie Misfits

Boogie Misfits West Crew has been set up by Triple8Funk and The Performing Arts School of NZ (PASNZ) to create opportunities for aspiring young dancers to create, perform and train in Street/Hip Hop dance to a high level.
Boogie Misfits West Crew will be one of 5 crews in different suburban areas of Auckland. Under the direction of TRiPLe8FuNk’s Joel Gallarde, those successful in the audition will be given a connection point to the local and international street dance scene. Aimed at dancers 12-18 years the crews are geared to develop their creative and personal potential through dance education and performance. Dancers are taught a wide range of street / Hip Hop dance styles and techniques which will enable them to become fit and confident. Members will also benefit from the philosophy and values of teamwork, discipline, artistic innovation, leadership and a healthy balanced lifestyle.
The Crew will meet weekly in term time on Mondays at 6.30pm at The Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC). The cost for Term 2 is $149.00 inclusive of all teaching and production fees. One PASNZ scholarship will be awarded to a worthy committed dancer each term.  Please note that intensive rehearsals take place before scheduled performances and competitions.
