Acting for Screen

Being in front of the camera can be a scary experience for some of us. These classes turn the camera into a friend by exploring the skills and joys of acting for film and TV. In a safe, fun and challenging learning environment students will gain an understanding of the important part that listening, imagination and emotional honesty have to play in creating a great screen performance. The course covers improvisation, text work and acting technique and introduces students to practical audition hints and entertainment industry information.

Creative Drama
tutor: Aidee Walker

This is a fun and nurturing environment that introduces youngsters to the first skills of theatre. Their natural imaginative energy is channelled through the elements of movement, visual arts, stories, puppetry and role-playing. As confidence grows their dramatic storytelling becomes an endearing expression of themselves and the world they live in. The kids will develop a studio show for the final day of term.

Film Making
tutor: Nichola Jones

Ever wanted  make your own film? These classes introduce you to the core steps in putting together a short film. In a welcoming and fun environment, students will be guided in creating a script, making a storyboard, learning the necessities in pre-production, sourcing costumes and props, making their own music/sound fx, filming their story and editing the footage. At the end of the term parents are welcome to attend the screening of the film with their children and each child gets to take home a copy of their very own short film.

Theatre Performance

These classes develop the child’s confidence and imagination together with the acting skills required to perform successfully in front of an audience. Using improvisation, voice, creative movement, song, and original scripts, children gain skills and confidence to express their unique creative selves.
